Perhaps it is just sexual boredom I've suffered?

I'm in a very charged sexual relationship at the moment and I can't get enough of it! I suspect it is a matter of me getting "plenty of women, especially ones with high sex drives"! :D

Men make things too complex; it's as if they were taught seduction by their moms.
Think healthy lifestyle, good diet, exercise, cleanliness, lots of variety, music, plenty of women, especially ones with high sex drives, sort out your relationship problems, get over sexual hang-ups. Or did you just mean you had sexual boredom?
BTW Stress is just the price for selling your soul to Mammon.

I find this slightly amusing as I would have guessed readers here would, in the most part, have higher than average sex drives. Obviously, if anyone has an abnormally low sex drive, it's not funny and they should consult their Doctor.

Anyway, whilst not wishing to turn this into a Health forum, because there are plenty of organisations that can give much better advice on matters of wellbeing. Excessive stress can decrease people's sex drives, but then so can severe obesity, being very underweight, poor diet, depression, smoking, diabetes, alcohol or prolonged exposure to bright lights and even high sound levels. Here's a more authoritative article about reducing stress.

As to dietary factors, there’s a dangerous presupposition in the question i.e. that increased consumption of Zinc is good for you and thus a higher dose would increase libido. So, I feel that I should point out that an excess of dietary Zn has actually been linked with immune system damage. Also, more sperm would not necessarily correlate with higher sex drive.

In a nutshell, and I'm oversimplifying here, the main driver for libido is Testosterone. Zn is a precursor in the manufacture of Testosterone, so IF someone had a Zn deficiency, that could be the cause of it.

Assuming someone wanted to make sure their sex drive was at peak condition, and wasn't stressed; they should make sure they get their RDA of vitamins A, B(complex), C, E, K, Selenium, Magnesium, Zinc, Phosphorus and L-arginine; all of which are important in the manufacture of Testosterone. Again, I feel it’s very important to emphasise that excessive intake of many of these supplements could actually be harmful. Finally, as an aside, there’s no scientific evidence for claims made about Horny Goat Weed. Other than an interesting name and placebo effect, its effect on sex drive or sperm volume have been reported to be negligible.

Very true.
Sadly many of us live stressful lives, not conducive to having a high sex drive. Pornography seems to temporarily raise the sex drive but I get the feeling it numbs the brain's receptors for sexual stimuli. Perhaps it just makes one more of a sexual connoisseur, but either way it doesn't seem to me to be psychologically healthy. Well, there's no replacing the real thing is there?

Apart from dietary factors to raise sperm production (e.g. consuming dietary zinc) how can one cultivate a strong sex drive?
